AI Search Optimization for ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and AI Overviews

AI search optimization brings SEO, GEO, and AEO together into one plan, so your business is visible whether a customer types into Google, asks an assistant, or reads an AI summary. It's built for businesses that want a single strategy for every kind of search.

The problem

Search has split into several front doors.

A few years ago, search meant Google's ten blue links. Now the same customer might see an AI Overview at the top of Google, ask ChatGPT for recommendations, check Perplexity for a comparison, and use a voice assistant on the way to your store.

Each surface has its own rules, but they draw from overlapping signals: technically accessible pages, clear and trustworthy content, structured data, and a consistent reputation. Treating them as separate projects wastes budget and creates conflicting priorities.

Most businesses also lack visibility. Analytics tools barely report AI referrals, and AI answers aren't tracked like rankings. Without measurement, it's hard to know where you stand or what's working.

My approach

One strategy, measured across every search surface.

I build a plan that starts with the shared foundation: crawlability for both search and AI bots, clear content, and structured data. Then I layer in the work specific to each surface, such as prompt tracking for generative engines and answer formatting for snippets and Overviews.

Reporting covers all of it in one place: classic rankings and traffic, AI Overview presence, mentions and citations in AI assistants, and AI referral traffic where analytics can capture it.

Unified foundation

Technical access, content clarity, and schema that serve every engine.

AI crawler readiness

robots.txt rules, llms.txt, and rendering checks for AI bots.

Cross-engine tracking

Visibility in Google, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.

AI referral analytics

Analytics configuration to separate AI-driven visits where possible.

FAQ

Questions about AI Search Optimization

Have another question? Email hello@hamzamajeed.me.

Is AI search replacing Google?

Not replacing, but changing it. Google itself now shows AI Overviews, and many people use AI assistants alongside search. Optimizing for both is the practical approach.

What is llms.txt?

It's a proposed plain-text file that gives AI systems a short, structured summary of your site and key pages. It's not a ranking factor, but it's a low-cost way to make your content easier for AI tools to understand.

Can you track traffic from ChatGPT?

Partly. Some AI tools pass referral data, and I configure Analytics to group it. Many AI interactions don't produce a click, so I also track mentions directly.

How is this different from the GEO/AEO Program?

AI Search Optimization uses the same program and price, framed for businesses that want classic SEO and AI search handled together under one plan.

Do I need to change my website platform?

Usually not. WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, and Wix can all be optimized for AI search, with some differences in how much control you have.

Can you guarantee AI visibility?

No. AI answers change often and no one controls them. I measure consistently, improve the signals that matter, and report honestly.
